Bloodlines is committed to protecting the rights of visitors to its website, and provides this privacy policy to describe how it collects, uses, and protects visitor information.  First, what we don’t do:  we don’t collect financial information (because we don’t process payments through the site), we don’t use the information we do collect for promotional or marketing purposes, and we don’t sell, rent, lend, or otherwise share your information with any third parties, except as explained below.

If you email us for a free consultation, or to report problems with the site, we may ask for your name, street address, email address, telephone and fax number.  This information is used only to respond to your genealogical or technical issue, and is not used by Bloodlines or any other party for any marketing, promotional, or other reason.  At no time does Bloodlines collect bank, credit card, social security, or other private information; any purported communication from Bloodlines requesting such information will be fraudulent and should be ignored.

Our site does not use advertising, and so does not employ advertising cookies.  Our web hosting company, however, does collect information to provide us with statistical analysis relating to the operating systems and browsers used by our visitors, what pages were viewed and how they were accessed, how visitors found the site, what geographical areas our visitors are from, how many pages our visitors viewed, and how many unique visitors our site has had.  In order to generate this statistical information, our web hosting company does use cookies, but no personally identifiable information is provided to Bloodlines.  We use this information only to improve the design and technological compatibility of our site.

For the convenience of our visitors, Bloodlines provides links to unrelated sites.  Each such site has its own privacy policy, and Bloodlines is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these sites.
