Our Research PhilosophyBloodlines emphasizes full, complete, and meticulous research, a skeptical mindset, and a creative approach to problem solving. We take nothing at face value, try to resolve conflicting evidence, and seek outside confirmation of facts asserted in each document. When you've hit the proverbial “brick wall” with your research, we often recommend finding as many records as possible for each research subject, and pursuing records on both direct and collateral lines. This may mean accounting for all family members in all relevant censuses, searching for the marriages of all of a couple’s children to find information on the parents, or collecting all records in one area pertaining to a particular surname, all to the extent practicable. Our ExpertiseWe specialize in in-depth research in the Northeastern United States, with an insider's knowledge of Philadelphia, New York, and Boston. We readily travel between New York, Trenton, and Philadelphia – and other areas upon request – in order to access original records. We have in-depth knowledge, gained from years of experience, with Irish (and Northern Irish) research, whether researching from abroad, or in Dublin, Belfast, or places too small to be shown on the national map. Our experience with German, English, and other records is extensive and growing. Our MembershipsWe maintain memberships in the following historical, genealogical, and professional societies:
